If you're in the market for buying a home and wondering when you'll know it's the right one, read on.

It fits into the life you imagine for yourself in the immediate future (3-5 years)
Generally, 3-5 is a minimum amount of time people want to stay in their house before needing to move again. If this house suits your needs for the immediate future, give it a second look.
Pets are a consideration when buying a home It's your dream home
This one's a no-brainer! If it doesn't conflict with any of the other elements, then go for it!
It's your dream home It comfortably fits into your finances
If it doesn't stretch you beyond your comfort level - that would only add stress - then you can add a check mark to the "yes" side.
The finances feel right The neighborhood is right for you
It has a Dog Park and you have a dog. It has running rails throughout, and you are active. The neighbors seem really laid-back, and that's the atmosphere you're looking for.
Consider the neighborhood where the house is located It has most of your must-haves
You needed 2.5 bathrooms and a fenced-in yard? You had to have at least a 2-car garage? If it has the things you were looking for, this could be the one.
It has few or none of your "no's"
You absolutely could not live in an HOA community, and this isn't in one? You refuse to buy a fixer-upper, and this is in great shape? This could be it.
The neighbors seem happy
If you sense a vibe that the neighbors are happy where they are, this is a big sign. If you're brave enough, talk to them and see what they like about the neighborhood and why they stay.

Excellent school system for the kids. In a highly desirable area that consistently appreciates in value. These could be reasons enough to buy the house.
Location, amenities, or attractions could be perks that make it worth buying It's part of your bigger picture
If you've run the numbers and this house is a good investment purchase, or you anticipate keeping this home to pass down to your kids, make sure the other elements are in place, and then feel confident moving forward.
It could be a stepping stone in a bigger plan You just know
While it's not wise to make a big life decision entirely on feeling, it can help to check in with yourself and see if get any feedback: a feeling of peace? confidence? joy? This could be your sign that his is the one for you.
